Gold Eagle

Physical Characteristics:
The Gold eagle is a brown and gold collared hawk. It weighs up to 15 pounds and has a wing span up to 8 feet. Also, it reaches speeds up to
240 to 320 km/h when diving. The young hatch at intervals of several days. In cases when 2 young will hatch
the older will try to kill the other. They have dark
beaks and eyes. Females are larger than the males. The immatures have a patch of white on the tail. The matures are gray and brown. They’re covered with feathers to their toes.

Habitat Description:
The bird can be found in mountainous regions of the U.S.A. It builds its nest on mounts ledges or cliffs. It ranges through the western hemisphere Europe and Asia. This bird likes high places on mountainous regions. They live in shrub land and grass land. In the winter they are found primarily in shrub and vegetation, in the west they will nest in high trees. They can be found in southern America.

Diet
The bird’s diet consists of foxes , rabbits ,and hares The bird also feeds on small mammals and reptiles. Also, 20% of their diet is small rodents and reptiles. The birds hunt their prey although if forced they will eat dead animals.
